At 62 years old, I have been to many good (and not so good) dentists over the years, but Darshan and his team at Selsdon Dental Surgery are by far the best I have ever been to. I have had general dentistry work carried out within this last year, and a few days ago, some composite cosmetic work done, all by Darshan. He is so thorough in explaining everything before he carries out any work, and is gentle and competent in all areas. My cosmetic work (and general dentistry) was cheaper than other dental quotes in the area too and I’m thrilled with my new cosmetic treatment. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful and I’m not kept waiting and tend to be called in on time. What a brilliant find, I’m so glad I changed to Selsdon Dental surgery and cannot praise Darshan and his team high enough. 5* service all round. If you’re thinking of changing dentists, or moving to this area, this is the best by far. And even if you’re not, it’s worth a long drive!!! Thank you. Karen.

I recently completed my Invisalign treatment and composite bonding with Dr. Darshan, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Our whole family is registered at Selsdon Dental Surgery. Dr Shukla is a fantastic dentist, always smiling, very competent and explains treatment in details. Having been at the same practice for 30 years, I was extremely apprehensive when I was introduced to Darshan due to Simon retiring.I decided to have a check and discussed Invisalign treatment, Darsh put me at ease from the off, at every consultation he explained fully what would happen and would only proceed if I was happy.My treatment finished last year and I have been extremely pleased with the results and after care.I've recently had 2 new crowns fitted and was quite anxious but again, Darshan was patient and explained the procedure.I also need to commend Ellie the dental nurse, very lovely young lady, who is extremely professional.All staff are polite, courteous and hopefully my dentist for the next 30 years.A.S

The best dentist ever! Dr Darshan constantly puts me at ease and offers the best level of treatment. He was very accommodating with any tweaks I wanted for my Invisalign treatment and got me to the stage where everyone compliments my smile! I honestly couldn't be happier with the treatment I received from the whole team at Selsdon Dental Surgery. Dr Shukla is absolutely lovely, really patient and takes his time explaining the treatment. He offers honest, no pressure advice and is happy to answer any questions. I've hated trips to the Dentist ever since I broke my front teeth when I was at school. I had horrible crowns fitted which I've put up with for years, and only grudgingly came to get new ones fitted when one of the old ones kept falling out. It's been the best experience I have ever had, I was treated with compassion and understanding from my first visit, and I now have two excellent crowns fitted and a smile I actually like! I'd recommend Selsdon Dental Surgery to everyone. ❤️

I came to Selsdon Dental surgery 18months ago and it was the best decision I’ve ever made! I’ve just finished the Invisalign process and I couldn’t be happier with my teeth. Darshan took time and care analysing my teeth and making sure the process was as smooth as possible. Not only is he exceptional at his job, he’s also one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. He is not only highly knowledgeable and skilled, but has genuine care and compassion towards his patients, making each visit a pleasure! Dr Shukla did a great job of explaining every step of the process clearly and addressed all my questions with patience and kindness, making the entire process easy and comfortable.My mum is also a patient of Dr Shukla who has more complex requirements after previous surgery and is a somewhat nervous patient - he consistently makes her feel well cared for and she couldn’t speak more highly of him! I had my first dental check up in over 2 years today at Selsdon Dental Surgery. After submitting several enquiries to various local dental practices last weekend, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a response within only 15 minutes, especially given it was a Saturday night. I was looking for an appointment as soon possible so to be able to get one just 4 days later was a real plus.All of the staff were really welcoming and put me at ease instantly. Dr Darshan took the time to understand my dental history, provide honest recommendations of what work needed doing, and ultimately did an amazing job on all the work I had done today. Given that I’ve had bad experiences with other dentists in the past insisting on expensive treatment that I wasn’t convinced was needed, to find a dentist who’s genuinely honest and puts patient above profit is very refreshing. Have already booked my next check up in 6 months and I’m confident that I’ve found a dentist who will help me look after my teeth long-term. Highly recommend!

I have been a customer of the Selsdon Dental Surgery for over 35 years, originally with Dr Mooi, and now with Dr Darshan Shukla. When Dr Mooi retired I was a little nervous as he had been my dentist since childhood, and I have never been the most comfortable dental patient. However, upon meeting Darshan and having had some treatment with him, I feel completely reassured that he was an excellent choice to lead this practice, and that Dr Mooi has left his patients in very capable hands.Darshan is very patient, fully explains any treatment options, and really takes into consideration the patient's individual needs and accommodations. I especially appreciate that he plans long term, ensuring that the treatment you receive is the best option for you not only for today, but also in 10+ years from now. He takes pride in the final appearance of any treatments, leaving me with a renewed confidence in my smile.

My 83 year old Mum-in-Law recently registered at Selsdon Dental surgery on my recommendation. A nervous patient, her own long term dentist had just retired. She was EXTREMELY happy with Darshan, “such a lovely and gentle man,” she said, “so gentle, very thorough, put my mind at ease!” He addressed any concerns she had and just couldn’t have been nicer. I would highly recommend Selsdon Dental Surgery. A number of my front teeth needed treatment and Dr Shukla took the time to listen to my views and concerns and a treatment plan agreed around that. At every stage he explained the process and what to expect and I am very pleased with the outcome. I had an issue that led to root canal work. The standard of care and service was excellent. The staff are personable, welcoming and efficient and get back to you promptly if you have any queries. My family have been going to the practice for a few years for regular checkups and found the transition to Dr. Shukla a positive one. Also the staff are very friendly and always have a nice chat. My two primary school aged children enjoy going and feel at ease. I was pleased to find out Dr. Shukla is very experienced in providing Invisalign treatments, so I took the plunge to correct bad crowding of my bottom teeth due to neglecting to wear my retainers as a teenager. 14 weeks later my teeth look great again and I’m pleased I went through with it. Worth every penny. I’ve already referred a friend for her Invisalign journey!

I have never been keen going to the dentist due to previous experiences as a child, i have been going there for quite a few years and saw Doctor Mooi. When it changed hand I was cautious but when i went I found I was worrying for nothing I had to have an extraction Dr Shukla explained the process to me and made me feel at ease and was kind and understanding in my discomfort and nervousness of being there, i have a follow-up in a couple months time which which I'm not nervous about going to. He also saw my son who has autism, he was understanding, patient, kind and encouraging so my son came out happy. Everyone there is kind and cheerful and makes the experience comfortable I would highly recommend them

I wanted to wait a while after my treatment to post this review.I needed emergency dental treatment which was resolved very quickly after visiting the surgery. I wanted to return 2 weeks later for an extraction.I personally couldn’t watch Dr Shukla do the extraction. He was very understanding and allowed me to wear an eye mask.All options were carefully explained to me. I even received a follow up phone call a week after my extraction.I had brilliant service and would have no hesitation on recommending the surgery to a friend.

I have found Dr Darshan Shukla to be very welcoming, friendly, efficient and professional. He put me at ease straight away. He is currently helping me with TMD and has explained everything very well. I have recently seen him for a filling which was dealt with very well.I am due back in July to have a tooth capped and get a new mouth guard for the TMD. I feel totally in safe hands and wouldn't go anywhere else.

I highly recommend Darsh who has recently taken over the practice. I needed a root canal filling which I was dreading. Darsh put me at ease straightway, he sat in front of me to explain exactly what he would be doing as opposed to talking at the back of you. Hand of heart I felt no discomfort whatsoever. I’ve had 3 Invisalign’s over a 15 year period and by far I’ve had the best results with Dr Darshan. He is patient, listens carefully and will always go above and beyond to ensure you get the best outcome and results. I’ve had other consultations on other services too and have every confidence I will be pleased at the end. I will not go to another practise as I feel comfortable each and every time I go. I have to say, Dr Shukla was absolutely perfect when I first came to see him to have treatment done.I went for a consultation as I had a gap in my tooth (My fault for not wearing retainers for the right duration of time when I was younger after braces) and he recommended me to have Invisalign.I was nervous, as never was really keen on the dentist but he sat me down, explained the procedure and put me at ease.The invasalign treatment worked wonders and I am now able to smile confidently.In addition to this, he also used composite bonding to ensure after the invasalign treatment, my teeth looked perfect as I had a few small chips in them here and there.Throughout my whole treatment, Dr Shukla has kept in contact, making sure all is ok and ensuring that consultation checks were carried out during my Invasalign period.I look forward to seeing him again soon for the last final treatment of teeth whitening and a final composite bonding to ensure my teeth will always remain perfect.I highly recommend Dr Shukla for everything he has done for me, and for others I know who have also been treated by him including my family members.

He developed and explained my treatment plan clearly and in detail, which was very helpful and reassuring.During follow-up appointments, Dr Shukla would always thoroughly discuss my treatment progress and answer all my questions. Have been going to Mr Mooi for almost 2 decades and I would never go anywhere else. Always first class service and have never been let down. He genuinely cares about the patients teeth as opposed to just wanting to do any pols thing for the sake of money. Highly recommended by myself and all of my family! I have a phobia of dentists and have never taken my children to the dentist, my husband takes them. However, today my husband was away and my 16 year old daughter knocked out half of her front tooth at 8.30 this morning, she was in a lot of pain and distress so I took her straight to the dentist when they opened at 9.00. The compassion and service she and I received was fantastic and the quality of the repair job is amazing. Less than 2 hours after the injury and you can’t see that it ever happened. Brilliant - I am so grateful.
